Huallaga

Huallaga M 7 1984

The strain was isolated in 1970 from the kidney of an opossum (Didelphis marsupialis) at Tingo Maria in the Peruvian jungle and published as anew serovar named huallaga, reference strain M 7 by Liceras de Hidalgo et al. (1984). The serovar was confirmed by a RL soon after the TSC Manchester meeting (1986) and is therefore marked in the Revised List of 1988 by (o) (Kmety, Dikken, 1988). It is now included unconditionally in the attached updated list.
