Varela

Varela 1019 1982

The strain was isolated in 1964 from an opossum in Nicaragua (Clark, 1966) and published by Sulzer et al. (1982) as a new serovar of the Pyrogenes group named varela, ref. strain 1019. Being not yet confirmed by a RL, it is given provisional status (+) on the Revised List (1988) and the attached updated list.
